omg yessssssss *spazzing*
o levels are ALMOST over!!!!!!!!
i am this close to freedom.
JUST THIS CLOSE.
left with sea history, chem, and bio mcq omg :D
i've never felt this good before.
once o's are officially over i bet i will just lose my mind.
so anyway, here are the things that i'll be up to this holiday:
1) Scrapbooking + Card-Making
this has always been my all-time favourite hobby. i'm not actually very good at it, neither am i professional in doing cards because i take at least 4 hours to finish a card. idk, don't you feel delighted when you receive a card that someone has put in much effort in doing? :) i'd feel very touched to receive a pretty card that someone has put much effort into doing :) HINT HINT BELATED BIRTHDAY CARDS GUYS. AHAHA KIDDING. yup the reason why i really enjoy doing scrapbooking because it's such a meaningful hobby. i like to see the joy on people's faces when they receive my cards. it's really the simple joys in life that matter the most. maybe i'll continue with my scrapbook that i left off to rot since... 1-2 years ago ugh. :P
2) Reading (as a hobby)
the reason why i want to pick up reading as a hobby is because i am absolutely stunned by how slow and uncreative my brain is. i feel so brain dead everytime i read a story/passage/text/novel and fail to understand it. all started from o level english compre. i completely misinterpreted the passage as i made no sense of what was going on. it came about as a great shock to me, how my intent dislike to read had such adverse consequences. i don't know why, i just hate reading. i am just lazy and don't want to use my brain to pore over the stories that could mean a million things. don't ask me how i fail to understand simple stories - this must have all arose from my lack of reading widely and deprivation of good books. that's why during this break, i gotta keep my brain active and alive by reading. yes, i hope that this is a lifelong skill/hobby that i'll indulge in. let's try to cultivate my love for books this holiday.
i'll probably start off with the perks of being a wallflower by stephen chbosky, since i just watched the movie today and found it particularly relevant to our teenage lives. i have a few books at home that i bought which i did not touch completely, though i read some half-heartedly for the sake of reading during our silent reading periods. i found a book in the house titled the sunflower forest by torey hayden. it seems appealing, since it dates back all the way to the war in history. oh oh oh, and i gotta finish up my hunger games trilogy too hehe! haven't found the time to finish catching fire and start on mockingbird ah :( quite excited!
3) Watch TV shows
yes i am definitely not the #1 fan of television programmes/movies/drama serials as you all know. but really, what harm can a few programmes do? enhance your general knowledge, teach you language and conversational skills... i don't see a bad thing about that. what i see that is currently bad, is me, again, failing to understand american movies and shows. i feel like a complete idiot, which is true, because when i watch shows, i rely heavily on english subtitles to help me understand what on earth is going on. this is bad. i need to do away without these subs soon. anyway, on another note, i've got a few programmes i wanna catch during this long break. the big bang theory, friends, glee (maybe!), diary of a wimpy kid movies, family guy, undercover boss and so on. that's all i can think of for now. but yeah, i definitely need to widen my horizons. i don't know 90% of the people in the showbiz and entertainment industry, and that is rather.... ummm. yup.
4) Baking
imagine the delightful smells of the cookies freshly baked from the oven. imagine the bright colours of the batter of rainbow cupcakes. imagine the soft fluffy cake inside the muffins you make. mmmm doesn't that sound delectable? oh yes so i've decided to bake (for fun). i'm so stoked to bake rainbow cupcakes, panda cupcakes, chocolate chip cookies, butterscotch and brownies. :) though i'm an ultimate noob at baking, i really really really can't wait. and yes jieling my baking buddy!!! let's bake for christmas ok! i'm so excited srsly ;-)
5) Revamp my wardrobe
indeed my fashion sense is horrible. i am in desperate need of hiring a fashion stylist so i can improve myself. i need to rid all my old clothes (that are too small) and hunt for new ones. i need more semi-formal clothing, not too exaggerated for simple outings, not too informal like the school-based shirts i always wear to tuition. oh fishsticks i feel like a fashion failure (alliteration). ha ha ha not funny. ummm so yes this is a crisis and that i gotta get down to packing my clothes and reorganising them. i. just. need. new. clothes. so. badly. ahhh.
6) Redesign my personal cork board
THIS IS A MUST-DO I SWEAR. actually i'm kind of conflicted about what i should do with my personal cork board. for these 4 years of my secondary school life, i've used it as a formula reference (which kinda died off after sec 3 because i was too lazy to write down my formulas on post-its and my ocd for writing neatly, almost perfectly irked me half the time too) but now i'm unsure what i SHOULD change it into. the best idea i have in mind right now is to use it and recreate a collage of my secondary school memories, something like this (
http://www.scrapbook.com/gallery/image/scraproom/1931643.html). again it's going to be a heavy investment on scrapbook stuff, but i'll make do with my leftovers first, i promise :) but i'm afraid i might regret it later when i move on to jc/poly and need the cork board again for formula reference... let's hope i won't regret my decision to reconstruct this into a memory collage just like what i did for my FIS 2011 collage. i'm most hyped about this. ^^ CAN'T WAIT TO GET STARTED ALREADY!
7) Learn how to use a DSLR
i think dslrs are amazing. the focus and quality of the photos are great. my dad's got one but he lent it out and i don't want it to actually go to waste. i really want to learn how to use the dslr. i need to learn. it's like a lifeskill hahaha ok no, i think things would be simple enough if i just play around with the functions on my own. like an experiment. i'll make sure i'll know everything about the dslr soon hehe :)
8) Pop songs on piano
i've got millions of pop songs lined up for me to learn during this break, but my first song to learn, and master, will be boys like girls' be your everything. i love that song so so so much, no words can express my love for it. it's amazing, how martin's voice can complement the acoustics and piano so well :) blg's amazing. i'll probably learn other hot chelle rae songs too, like whatever and honestly, my two favourites. i like forever unstoppable by hcr too but i think it won't suit the piano. guess i gotta delve for pop scores online again sometime soon! :)
x
yup so there are the eight things i want to do after o's.
what about you?
i'm sure everyone's tempted to try something different or just, play to the fullest during this break.
before the results come back i must play to my fullest (potential you can say) HAHAHA.
oh my goodness i sound like as though o levels are officially over.
what gibberish.
heh.
anyway i'd taken a one-day break today after lit to catch perks in the cinemas and blog now.
i will study hard for history on wednesday and the mcqs that are yet to come :-)
till we meet again, sometime VERY soon!!!! :)
and this will be me tonight and everyday from now on ;)
xoxo
